Aditya Birla Sun Life Equity Savings Fund managers
Managers now
| Manager | Return in the manager's time. The change in the plan's NAV from the day the manager took the fund over to the latest NAV; past a year, the yearly rate that would compound to the same change. | Benchmark over the same days. The change in the fund's benchmark index over the same days as the manager's return, worked out the same way, with the dividends of the index's companies added back. | Difference from the benchmark. The fund's return in the manager's time less its benchmark's over the same days, in percentage points. | Portfolio changed after the handover. How much of the portfolio was different three months after the manager took over: half the sum of every holding's change in weight, with each side's holdings scaled to add up to 100 so a move into cash does not count. | Portfolio changed before the handover. The same measure over the three months before the manager took over, since portfolios change anyway. | Assets the manager runs. The latest monthly size of every fund the manager runs now, added up; a fund run with others counts in full for each of its managers, and the line under it counts only the funds they run alone. | ||

Fund details
Objective
To provide capital appreciation and income distribution to the investors by using a blend of equity derivatives / strategies, arbitrage opportunities and pure equity investments. The Scheme does not guarantee/indicate / any returns. There can be no assurance that the schemes’ objectives will be achieved.
Asset allocation
- Under normal circumstances, the asset allocation of the Scheme will be as follows:
- Equity & Equity Related instruments including derivatives - 65-90%
- Out of which:
- - Derivatives (hedged)* : 0% - 90% / - Net long equity exposure (unhedged) ** : 15% - 40%
- Debt & Money market Instruments (including margin for derivatives) - 10-35%
- Units issued by InvITs - 0-10%
- Units of Mutual Funds (including Gold ETFs, Silver ETFs) - 0-25%
- ETCDs - 0%-10%
*The exposure to derivative shown in the above asset allocation table would normally be the exposure taken against the underlying equity investments and should not be considered for calculating the total asset allocation. This denotes hedged equity positions by investing in arbitrage opportunities in the equity / market. The fund manager in the above case can therefore take exposure to equivalent stock/ index futures & create completely covered positions. E.g. – / The scheme invests 65% in equity stocks/index basket in the cash market and takes short position in futures market for relevant stocks/ index to the extent of / exactly 65% to avail arbitrage between spot & futures market. Thus, the entire position is used to lock arbitrage profit. The Scheme may also invest in other / derivative instruments like covered calls etc. as deemed appropriate.
**This denotes only net long equity exposures aimed to gain from potential capital appreciation of these positions. Thus, it is a directional equity exposure which is not hedged.
