About Swiggy
Swiggy Limited runs an on-demand convenience platform through an app and website. Customers use it to browse, select, order and pay for food, groceries and household essentials, and deliveries are fulfilled through its network of delivery partners. The platform works with restaurant partners, merchant partners and brand partners. It serves urban consumers, and its stated mission is to enhance their quality of life by giving them access to daily essentials.
The business is organised into segments. Food Delivery connects customers with restaurants and also offers advertising and visibility solutions to restaurant partners. Quick Commerce, under the Instamart name, delivers groceries and household items within minutes. Out-of-Home Consumption has two services: Swiggy Dineout, where users discover restaurants and make reservations, and Swiggy Scenes, a platform for booking in-restaurant events. Through its subsidiary Swiggy Networks (Scootsy), it also provides warehousing, fulfilment and distribution services to brands, wholesalers and retailers. A Platform Innovations area builds and tests new services.
The food delivery service operates in more than 720 cities in India. Instamart was launched in 2020 and has 1,143 active dark stores, which are small warehouses that serve nearby customers. Swiggy acquired Dineout in 2022 and later integrated it into its main app. Instamart also uses larger dark stores called megapods to carry a wider range of products. The company has five subsidiaries and one associate company.
It was incorporated in 2013. The company has no identifiable promoter. A promoter is the person or group that set up a company or controls it.
