About Aptus Value Housing Finance India
Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited is a housing finance company with its head office in Chennai. It lends to self-employed, low-income families who are buying or building a home for the first time, mostly in semi-urban and rural India. Many of these borrowers earn a real income that is not documented, which is why banks often turn them away. The company's shares are listed on the BSE and NSE.
Its core product is the home loan, used for construction, purchase, renovation and extension of a house. It also gives quasi home loans, which are loans against a residential property that the family has already built, where the money may not go directly towards housing. It acts as a corporate agent for life and property insurance. A non-banking finance subsidiary lends only small business loans, always secured by residential property. Each loan starts with a field visit and a personal discussion with the customer.
Aptus has 339 branches across six states and one Union Territory: Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha and Puducherry. It enters only geographies adjacent to the ones where it already operates.
The company was incorporated in 2009 in Chennai. Its founder-promoter is M. Anandan. A promoter is the person or group that set up a company or controls it. Mr. Anandan is the Executive Chairman, and he and the promoter group hold part of the company's equity.
