About PB Fintech
PB Fintech Limited is the parent company of Policybazaar, an online marketplace for insurance, and Paisabazaar, an online marketplace for credit. It operates an asset-light, digital-first model: it does not underwrite insurance or carry credit risk on its own books. Instead, it helps consumers compare options and buy. Its stated purpose is to help India's middle class withstand the financial shocks of death, disease and disability.
Its core products are protection-oriented, such as health and term insurance. It also offers motor, travel, savings-led and pension products. Policybazaar began by offering product comparisons and later added telephone assistance, chat, video and in-person meetings. Through PB Partners, a platform-as-a-service, it supports independent agents who sell insurance. PB for Business extends the offering to corporates and small and medium enterprises, with employee benefits, property and liability cover, and serves more than 50,000 corporates and SMEs.
Paisabazaar was established in 2014 and works with more than 70 lending partners. Its customers include new-to-credit borrowers and small businesses seeking growth capital. Policybazaar offers a choice of 53 insurers, with on-ground sales support and on-ground claims support across Indian cities. Newer initiatives include PB Pay, Pensionbazaar and PB Wheels.
The company has its registered office in Gurugram, Haryana, and also operates in the United Arab Emirates. It was incorporated in 2008. Policybazaar was founded in the same year, and the company's shares are listed on the NSE and BSE.
