About Adani Total Gas
Adani Total Gas Limited is a city gas distribution company. It supplies natural gas to households, industries, commercial establishments and vehicles through pipeline networks and fuelling stations in India. It was incorporated in 2005.
The core business has two parts. Piped natural gas (PNG) is delivered by pipeline to industrial, commercial and residential customers. Compressed natural gas (CNG) is sold as a fuel for transport. Beyond gas distribution, the company has adjacent businesses. Its subsidiary Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Limited is building an electric vehicle charging network, with 5,100 charging points in 22 states and 4 Union Territories. Another subsidiary, Adani TotalEnergies Bio-Gas Limited, converts agricultural and municipal waste into compressed biogas. The company is also developing liquefied natural gas for transport and mining, and a joint venture, Smart Meters Technologies Private Limited, works on mechanical and smart gas meters.
The company holds authorisations to supply gas in defined geographical areas, each covering one or more districts. These include areas in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana and Kerala, served by a network of steel pipelines and CNG infrastructure. A further joint venture, IndianOil-Adani Gas Private Limited, also operates gas distribution areas. The head office is at Shantigram, Ahmedabad.
ATGL belongs to the Adani portfolio of companies, which was founded in 1988 by Gautam Adani, is headquartered in Ahmedabad and comprises 13 listed companies. ATGL is a joint venture of that portfolio with TotalEnergies, the energy company.
