About Tenneco Clean Air India
Tenneco Clean Air India Limited is a Tier 1 automotive component manufacturer. It supplies clean air, powertrain and advanced ride technologies to vehicle makers, known as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and to the aftermarket. Its customers include makers of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, off-highway vehicles and industrial applications, in India and in export markets.
The company operates through two segments. Clean Air and Powertrain Solutions makes exhaust aftertreatment systems, including catalytic converters, mufflers and exhaust pipes, along with engine bearings, sealing systems and ignition products. The powertrain products are supplied to OEMs and the aftermarket under the Champion brand. Advanced Ride Technologies designs, manufactures and supplies shock absorbers, struts and advanced suspension systems under the Monroe brand, for both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle platforms. The company and its subsidiaries have 12 manufacturing facilities and two R&D centres in key automotive hubs across India.
The company was incorporated in 2018. It acquired the Clean Air business in 2019 under a scheme of arrangement for demerger, which brought together established manufacturing operations and product lines. In March 2025 it acquired Federal-Mogul Sealing India Limited, Federal-Mogul Bearings India Limited, Federal-Mogul Ignition Products India Limited and Tenneco Automotive India Private Limited. Its shares were listed on the NSE and BSE on 19 November 2025, through an offer for sale by its promoter, Tenneco Mauritius Holdings Limited. A promoter is the person or group that set up a company or controls it.
The company is an ultimate subsidiary of Tenneco LLC, the principal operating entity of the Tenneco Group. The group is headquartered in the United States and serves original equipment and aftermarket customers across major global markets.
