About Force Motors Ltd-$
Force Motors Limited manufactures motor vehicles and vehicle components in India. Its registered office is at Akurdi, Pune. It was incorporated in 1958.
Its passenger vehicle platforms include the Traveller, Urbania and Trax, used in applications such as tour and travel and school buses. The Traveller platform is also available in an electric version. A Special Vehicle Division serves institutional and defence customers, and supplies Gurkha vehicles to the Indian Army. The company also has a research and development centre, and a plant at Pithampur.
A separate component business makes engines and axles for Mercedes-Benz India at a dedicated facility in Chakan, Pune, and engines and CRFM modules for BMW India at a facility in Chennai.
The company has two subsidiaries: Force MTU Power Systems Private Limited and Tempo Finance (West) Private Limited. Force MTU Power Systems comes from a joint venture with Rolls Royce Solutions GmbH, in which Force Motors holds a 51% stake. After March 2026, the company acquired 100% of Veera Tanneries Private Limited, which became a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Force Motors is itself a subsidiary of Jaya Hind Industries Private Limited. The business was started by the late N. K. Firodia. The chairman, Abhaykumar Firodia, and the managing director, Prasan Firodia, are promoters of the company. A promoter is the person or group that set up a company or controls it.
