About Gujarat Fluorochemicals
Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited is an Indian chemicals company built on fluorine chemistry. Its products go to industries such as automotive, electronics, air-conditioning, agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. It was incorporated in 2018, and its founder was Devendra Kumar Jain.
The business is organised into four verticals: fluoropolymers, fluorochemicals, battery materials and bulk chemicals. Fluoropolymers include PTFE, PFA, PVDF, FEP and fluoroelastomers (FKM). Fluorochemicals include refrigerant gases such as R-22, R-125, R-32 and R-410. Battery materials are made through its subsidiary GFCL EV Products and include LiPF6 salt, electrolyte formulations, PVDF and PTFE binders and cathode active material, at an integrated battery complex in Jolva, Gujarat. Bulk chemicals include caustic soda and chloromethanes.
The company manufactures at Ranjitnagar, Dahej and Jolva in Gujarat. Outside India it runs a captive fluorspar mine in Morocco and an HFC blending plant in Dubai. A captive mine supplies the company's own plants. HFC refrigerants are cooling gases made from hydrofluorocarbons. Subsidiaries named GFL Dubai, GFL Americas and GFL Germany handle trading, processing and warehousing for overseas markets, and GFL Singapore is an investment platform. Another subsidiary, GFCL Solar and Green Hydrogen Products Limited, makes fluoropolymer products for green hydrogen production. A wholly owned subsidiary, GFCL Semiconductor and Advanced Materials Limited, is set up to make specialty chemicals and semiconductor devices.
The company belongs to the INOXGFL Group, a conglomerate whose businesses span fluoropolymers, fluorochemicals, battery chemicals, wind turbines and renewable power generation. Inox Wind Limited, another listed company of the group, is a wind energy solutions provider.
