Return is price growth plus the average dividend yield. Change in P/E is (1 + price growth) / (1 + earnings growth) - 1, so the parts compound rather than add. Earnings growth over 1, 3 and 5 years includes one-off items (exceptional items and the result of businesses sold or closed) of more than a tenth of the profit of the year to Mar 2026.

About Cohance Lifesciences

Cohance Lifesciences is a contract development and manufacturing organisation, known as a CDMO: a company that develops and makes medicines or their ingredients for other drug companies. It serves pharmaceutical innovators, biotechnology companies and generic pharmaceutical customers. It is headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, and its equity shares are listed on the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE.

Its business is organised into Pharma CDMO, API+ and Speciality Chemicals, supported by capabilities in small molecules, antibody-drug conjugates and oligonucleotides. API+ covers active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations, from intermediates and APIs through pellets and finished dosage forms. Speciality Chemicals has two verticals, AgChem CDMO and Performance Chemicals. Its platform combines research, process development, analytical capabilities, high-containment chemistry and commercial-scale manufacturing. The antibody-drug conjugate platform connects payload and linker chemistry in India with the bioconjugation and analytics of NJ Bio in the United States. Through Sapala Organics, the company brings capabilities in oligonucleotide building blocks such as modified nucleosides and phosphoramidites.

The company runs 13 manufacturing plants. Avra, one of the businesses brought together in the platform, adds specialised chemistry and advanced intermediates. Its manufacturing network spans Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India, and Princeton, New Jersey, in the United States. It serves customers across North America, Europe, Japan and other international markets.

Its present form follows an amalgamation of two companies, effective 1 May 2025. In July 2024 it acquired a 67.5% stake in Sapala Organics.
