Return is price growth plus the average dividend yield. Change in P/E is (1 + price growth) / (1 + earnings growth) - 1, so the parts compound rather than add. Earnings growth over 5 years is on profit divided by shares in issue at both ends: the earnings per share stated for one end does not match that year's profit and share count. Earnings growth over 1, 3 and 5 years includes one-off items (exceptional items and the result of businesses sold or closed) of more than a tenth of the profit of the years to Mar 2021, Mar 2025 and Mar 2026.

About Apollo Tyres

Apollo Tyres Ltd makes and sells tyres for vehicles. It supplies them under two brands, Apollo Tyres and Vredestein Tyres, to customers in over 100 countries, through a wide distribution network of branded and exclusive outlets. It was incorporated in 1972, and its registered office is in Kochi, Kerala, with a corporate office in Gurugram, where its headquarters, Apollo House, is based.

The company serves several kinds of vehicle: trucks and buses, passenger vehicles, light trucks, two-wheelers and off-highway vehicles. The Apollo Tyres brand covers commercial and passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, farm and industrial tyres, and it supplies original equipment automobile players. The Vredestein brand is more than a century old. Its products include car tyres, tyres for agricultural and industrial applications, and bicycle tyres.

In India, the company operates tyre plants at Perambra and Kalamassery in Kerala, Limda in Gujarat, Chennai in Tamil Nadu and Chinnapandur in Andhra Pradesh, so its Indian plants are spread across four states. The Kalamassery plant is leased and operated by the company. Its operations in Europe are in Hungary and in Enschede in the Netherlands.

The company took the decision to discontinue manufacturing at its Enschede facility in the Netherlands during the year to March 2026, so Enschede is no longer a manufacturing site. Enschede remains one of the locations named among its European operations.
