Consolidated. The last eight quarters. The latest is shaded. Net profit is the whole group's, the other owners of its subsidiaries included; P/E and ROE use the company's own share. Net margin is left blank for Mar 2025: the profit includes the result of a business the company has discontinued, which the revenue does not, so the two make no margin.

Return is price growth plus the average dividend yield. Change in P/E is (1 + price growth) / (1 + earnings growth) - 1, so the parts compound rather than add. Earnings growth and the change in P/E are left empty where earnings per share at either end of the window was a loss or is not on record.

About Tata Chemicals

Tata Chemicals Limited makes soda ash, sodium bicarbonate and salt, and sells crop protection products and seeds through its subsidiary Rallis India Limited. Its customers include makers of glass, detergents, pharmaceuticals, food and animal feed. It is part of the Tata Group, and its head office is in Mumbai.

The company works through two divisions. Basic Chemistry covers alkali chemicals such as soda ash and sodium bicarbonate, salt and other inorganic chemicals. Specialty Products covers agrochemicals and seeds, silica and prebiotics. Rallis is a publicly listed subsidiary with over 7,200 dealers and 95,000 retailers across India. Its crop protection range covers herbicides, fungicides and insecticides, and it develops hybrid seeds for field crops and vegetables. Highly dispersible silica is aimed mainly at tyre makers, and the prebiotics business is built around fructo-oligosaccharide, a dietary fibre.

Operations span four continents, with manufacturing facilities in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Kenya. Natural soda ash comes from the Green River Basin in Wyoming, USA, and from Lake Magadi in Kenya. The Mithapur plant in India has produced one million tonnes of soda ash in a year.

It was incorporated in 1939. In 2025 it closed its Lostock soda ash plant in the United Kingdom. In the year to March 2026 it acquired Novabay Pte. Limited of Singapore, a maker of premium grade sodium bicarbonate with a capacity of 60 KTPA.
