Exchange had sought clarification from United Breweries (Holdings) Limited with respect to recent news item captioned "United Bank identifies UBHL as Willful Defaulter". The Company has clarified that "United Bank of India ( UBI ) vide its notice dated 12.11.2014 has alleged that it has identified the Company as a proposed Willful Defaulter for not honouring payment of certain dues advanced by UBI to Kingfisher Airlines Limited, for which the company had purportedly issued a corporate guarantee. The Company has disputed the claims made by UBI and, vide letter dated 27.11.2014 filed its detailed representations to the aforesaid notice of UBI. The company has been advised that none of the parameters constituting willful default governed by the Master Circular issued by the Reserve Bank of India apply to the company and the company will seek appropriate legal recourse against any arbitrary or illegal action of UBI to protect its interest, should the need arise. Kindly note that the aforesaid action of UBI has no bearing on the operation / performance of the Company".3 Dec · Legal

In this regard, Exchange have advised the Company to provide clarification/confirmation on the news item in detail including the following: a) Whether such event/negotiations/article stated in published news were taking place? If so, you are advised to provide the said information along with the sequence of events in chronological order and the material impact of this article on the Company. b) Whether company are aware of any information that has not been announced to the Exchanges under clause 36 of the Listing Agreement. The response from the Company is awaited.
