About Techno Electric & Engineering Company
Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited builds and owns power and digital infrastructure in India. It was incorporated in 2005 and has its registered office in Gurgaon, Haryana. Its customers include Power Grid Corporation of India, state electricity boards and industrial companies such as Hindalco Industries, and it has also worked for customers abroad, including in Nepal and Uganda.
The business has three parts: engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), asset deployment and asset ownership. The EPC part executes power projects in generation, transmission and distribution. It builds extra high voltage substations up to 765 kV and has developed more than 350 substations above 400 kV. It also does balance of plant work for thermal and hydro stations, flue gas desulphurisation systems and distribution management systems.
Asset deployment covers long-term concession projects. The company has won five transmission projects through tariff-based competitive bidding, three of them commissioned. It has installed 1.8 million smart meters across four states under a 120-month DBFOOT concession model.
Asset ownership holds digital infrastructure, and the digital arm is called Techno Digital. The company has established a 24 MW hyperscale campus in Chennai, while campuses of 8 MW and 16 MW are under development in Kolkata and Noida. It is also building 102 edge data centres with RailTel under a 20-year revenue share model, across 23 states. It holds these businesses partly through unlisted subsidiaries such as Techno Digital Infra Private Limited and Techno AMI Solutions Private Limited. Over the years it has evolved from a pure-play EPC business into this three-part structure.
