  Exchange had sought clarification from Syndicate Bank with respect to a news item captioned "Syndicate Bank to raise Rs.2100 cr this fiscal". The Company has clarified that "We had vide our letter no. 494 dated 07.05.2014 informed stock exchanges about the board approval for raising equity capital to the tune of Rs.1500.00 Crore by way of QIP/Rights Issue or any other mode for 2014-15. We had also informed vide the same letter about the approval accorded by Board for raising Tier II capital to the tune of Rs.1150.00 Crore. Bank had raised tier II bonds to the tune of Rs.750.00 Crore on 02.12.2014, which was informed to the exchange vide our letter No. 985 dated 02.12.2014. Bank has sought Government of India approval for raising Basel III Complaint Tier I bonds to the extent of Rs.1000.00 Crore, and the amount of Rs.1000.00 Crore or part of the same may be raised during the current financial year in the event of Government of India according approval.
