About Coromandel International

Coromandel International Limited makes and sells farm inputs in India. Its products include fertilisers, single super phosphate, specialty nutrients, organic and nano products, and crop protection products. It also runs rural retail stores and spraying services for farmers.

The business is organised in verticals: nutrients, crop protection, retail and services, and technology. Crop protection covers formulations, technicals and bioproducts. Technology covers drones for precision spraying and an e-commerce and digital platform.

It operates 18 manufacturing plants across South, West, Central and North India. Its retail network of over 1,200 centres is in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, and it sells through over 12,000 channel partners. Outside India, it has subsidiaries in countries including Brazil, Australia, Nigeria and Vietnam, and holds 71.5% of Baobab Mining and Chemicals Corporation, a rock phosphate project in Senegal.

It was incorporated in 1961 through a collaboration between International Minerals and Chemical Corporation of the United States, Chevron Chemical Company and EID Parry. It began operations with its first complex fertiliser plant at Visakhapatnam in 1967. Liberty Pesticides and Fertilisers Limited and Coromandel SQM (India) Private Limited merged with it in April 2021. It has acquired a 53% stake in NACL Industries Limited and holds 58% of the drone company Dhaksha Unmanned Systems. Coromandel is a company of the Murugappa Group, after EID Parry progressively increased its shareholding.
