Return is price growth plus the average dividend yield. Change in P/E is (1 + price growth) / (1 + earnings growth) - 1, so the parts compound rather than add. Earnings growth over 1 year includes one-off items (exceptional items and the result of businesses sold or closed) of more than a tenth of the profit of the year to Mar 2026.

About Afcons Infrastructure

Afcons Infrastructure Limited is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor that builds infrastructure projects across a range of sectors. Its registered office is in Mumbai. The business began operations in 1959 as a partnership firm, and the present company was incorporated in 1976.

Its work is organised into five business verticals. Urban Infrastructure covers metro rail systems, bridges and flyovers. Marine and Industrial covers port and harbour infrastructure, including jetties and dry docks. Hydro and Underground covers dams, barrages, tunnelling and water and irrigation works. Surface Transport covers highways, roads, railways and tunnels. Oil and Gas covers both offshore and onshore projects, including the ONGC Heera Redevelopment process platform.

The company has a presence in more than 30 countries across South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Its projects include the Nagpur Metro Reach-2 in India and a bulk jetty at the Port of Sohar in Oman. It holds five-star export house status and keeps an in-house equipment base to support its projects.

Over the years it added marine construction, bridge construction, underground metro tunnelling and offshore oil and gas work to its original civil construction business. It was acquired by Sterling Investment Corporation Ltd, a Shapoorji Pallonji Group company, and its shares are listed on NSE and BSE. Afcons is the flagship infrastructure engineering and construction company of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
