Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. has informed the Exchange that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on April 29, 2008 has recommended a dividend of 70% (i.e. Rs.7 per equity share) for the year ended March 31, 2008. The cash outflow on account of dividend will be Rs. 1,078 lakh and for tax on distributed profit including Education Cess will be Rs. 183.21 lakh.17 Apr · Board meeting

Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. has informed the Exchange regarding the change in the Board of Directors of the Company: "(a) At the Annual General meeting held on 25-6-2007, Mr. Prakash Chandra Parakh, Mr. Suresh Thawani and Mr.Sudhir Deoras (who were earlier appointed Additional Directors by the Board), have been appointed Directors by the members of the company. (b) Mr.B. Muthuraman, chairman of the Company, has stepped down from the Board as a Director as well as the Chairman w.e.f. 23rd July, 2007. Parakh has been appointed as Additional Director on the Board of Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. w.e.f. 7-3-2007. He will be a non-executive and independent director. (2) Mr. Ashok Pandit the existing Managing Director of Tata Sponge Ltd. will retire from the services of the company w.e.f. 10th March, 2007 after completing his second term of 3 years on 9-3-2007. Consequent upon this, he will also cease to be a director of the company w.e.f. 10th March, 2007. (3) Mr. Suresh Thawani has been appointed Additional Director w.e.f. 10th March, 2007. He has also been appointed as the Managing Director of the company w.e.f. 10th March, 2007 for a period of 3 years. (4) Mr. Sudhir Deoras has resigned from the post of Joint Managing Director of Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. His resignation has been accepted by the Board, which will be effective from 1st April, 2007. Consequent upon this, he will cease to be the Jt. Managing Director as well as Director w.e.f. 1-4-2007. (5) However, Mr. Sudhir Deoras has again been appointed as Additional Director in the non-independent and non-executive capacity w.e.f. 1st April, 2007".
