News Verification : The media had reports that UAE-based telecom major Etisalat may buy a 25% stake in the company. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company. Reliance Communications Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "The Company has been receiving various proposals from time to time from reputed International Telecom companies expressing interest in acquiring a strategic equity stake in RCOM. The Company evaluates such proposals, in line with the Company's policy to constantly endeavor to enhance overall shareholder value. The Company will comply with all its obligations including timely disclosures, at the appropriate time."
