      Nicholas Piramal India Ltd. has informed the Exchange vide its letter dated December 06, 2007, that: "The Board has today decided to redeem the following Preference Shares. The Redemption Date is 9th January 2008: a) 15,00,000 - 5% Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares of Rs.100 each ("Series I Preference Shares"). b) 2,33,72,280 - 5% Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares of Rs.10 each ("Series II Preference Shares"). The aforesaid Preference Shares would be redeemed alongwith pro-rata Interim Dividend at the coupon rate (i.e. @5%) from 1st April 2007 upto 9th January 2008, being the date of redemption. The Board has fixed 4th January 2008 as the Record Date for the purpose of Redemption of both the said Preference Shares alongwith pro-rata interim dividend thereon as aforesaid. The Redemption Proceeds alongwith the aforesaid pro-rata Interim Dividend would be paid to the respective Preference Shareholders on 10th January 2008. For the convenience of the Preference Shareholders holding preference shares in physical form, the Company will be dispatching the redemption proceeds without insisting on surrender of the relevant Preference Share Certificate, which shall deem to stand cancelled with effect from the redemption date".
