The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company. Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "The lenders of the company had formed Joint Lenders Forum (JLF) in terms of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines. Further, lenders among themselves discussed various options of restructuring of debt of the company in their meeting and Strategic Debt Restructuring (SDR) option was one of them. News about Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited.The media had reports that "Share surges on reports of talks with Bhushan Steel to acquire stake in Orissa Sponge Iron".The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company.Monnet Ispat and Energy Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We are in principal agreeable to sell our stake held in Orissa Sponge Iron & Steel Ltd. to Bhushan Steel Limited. However, no commercial terms and valuations have been finalized.
