News Verification : The media had reports that Jaiprakash Associates Limited to sell Gujarat cement unit to UltraTech Cement Limited. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company. Jaiprakash Associates Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We wish to submit that as per publicly announced decision of Jaypee Group, we are committed to unlock and enhance shareholders' value through various options, including reduction of debt and, if required, by sale of some of the undertakings of the Company or any of its subsidiaries. This is a continuous exercise and all out efforts are being made to achieve the said objective.
