Himatsingka Seide Ltd had informed the Exchange regarding the first boiler of captive co-generation power plant had been commissioned. The Company has now informed the Exchange vide its letter dated April 08, 2010 that :"The second boiler of the captive co-generation power plant has been commissioned today. With this, the total power generation at the plant will be 12.5 MW. This completes the setting up of the 12.5 MW thermal (coal based) captive co- generation power plant at the bed linen manufacturing facility located at the Hassan SEZ, Karnataka. With this commissioning the Bed Linen manufacturing facility will be self sufficient as regards its requirement of steam and power. In addition the plant will have the capability to sell surplus power upto 6 MW".

Company has invested in setting up a 12.5MW thermal (Coal Based) captive Co-generation power plant at its bed linen manufacturing facility located at Hassan SEZ. In the first phase, the Company has successfully commissioned with effect from January 15, 2010, Boiler-I , which will ensure power generation of 6.25 MW along with the requisite requirement of steam. Pursuant to the approval accorded by the Members of the Company at the AGM held on September 26, 2007, the Company had on October 9, 2007 allotted 58,00,000 warrants on a preferential basis to the Promoters/ Promoter group. Out of the above, 10,24,000 warrants were converted into equivalent number of equity shares. The Promoters/Promoter group, have not exercised by April 8, 2009 as required in accordance with the terms of the issue, the option to convert the remaining 47,76,000 warrants issued on a preferential basis, into equivalent number of equity shares. The validity of the said warrants, therefore, has lapsed.

In respect of a disputed foreign exchange derivative contract, the counterparty had communicated that the knock out event had occurred. The company and the counter-party have now agreed to close all disputes pertaining to the said contract by way of an out of court settlement. The Company has paid an amount of Rs.9.23 Crores to the counterparty in full and final settlement of the dispute.
