DCW Limited has entered into a Technical License Agreement with Arkema, France, Europe's leading producer of Vinyl Products. DCW intends to set up a state of art Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride Resin (CPVC Resin) Plant with ARKEMA's licensed technology to manufacture 10000TPA of CPVC Resin & 12000TPA of CPVC Compound at its Sahupuram Complex in Tamil Nadu. DCW Limited will be the first Indian producer of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride Resin and Compound. CPVC is a specialized polymer used for hot & cold water plumbing & industrial applications. CPVC is at present 100% imported in to the country. The Plant which is expected to be commissioned in about 2 years time will be a synergistic value addition to DCW's PVC Resin & Chlor-Alkali Business

The Company has commenced sale of it's Surplus Power from the Company's 2 x 25 MW Coal based Captive Co Generation Plant situated at Sahupuram in Tamilnadu to Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. The supply commenced on 9th April, 2009 and the agreement is for supply of power till 31st May, 2009 for the time being. On account of power shortage situation in Tamil Nadu and most parts of India, the Company expects to benefit from its surplus power position. Going forward, the thermal power plant will facilitate efficient energy cost management
