Best & Crompton Engg. Limited has informed the Exchange, vide Notes to Accounts in the Audited Financial Results of the Company for the year ended 3ist March 2012 (taken on record by the Board of Directors of the Company at their meeting held on 19th November 2012) as follows: (1) "The Company has made significant investment in and advances to three Wholly Owned Subsidiaries besides furnishing corporate guarantees to the lending institutions. One of the above subsidiaries has discontinued its operations subsequent to the close of the financial year, while another subsidiary has suspended its operations throughout the financial year. The lending institutions of the above subsidiaries have, due to non repayment of dues, referred the matter to Debt Recovery Tribunal, Chennai. There has however, been no invocation of guarantees against the Company. The Company is taking appropriate steps to resolve the matter. The Statutory auditors have made reference to the matter in their report". (2) Loans and Advances includes Rs.21.67 crores which are overdue and in the opinion of the Management are good are recoverable. The Audit Report has drawn attention to this matter.
